Judd Tully interviews world-class contemporary artist Christo at Expo Chicago on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of his groundbreaking 1969 wrapping of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, an early project that became the global template for his multi-decade campaign of wrapping cultural/institutional icons from the 17th century Pont Neuf in Paris (1985) to the 19th century Reichstag in Berlin (1995).
Christo is currently represented by Galerie Gmurzynska of Zurich that celebrated that project at the recent Expo Chicago at Navy Pier and exhibited photographs of that intervention as well as original and rare Christo drawings from that time.
